Can an overseas company verify a Xiaohongshu business account?
Yes, if the account and its operator meet the requirements. Under Xiaohongshu’s confirmed professional account changes, an account assigned to CN can be used to verify an overseas company. An ordinary account assigned to non-CN cannot be upgraded to an enterprise professional account. Company registration documents alone do not establish eligibility.
The official phased rollout window is 30 September–30 October 2026. Check the application entry, current verification status and platform notices for the account being used; the rollout schedule does not mean every account has switched at once.
Which account should you use?
- For a new application, confirm that the ordinary account is assigned to CN before preparing company documents.
- An already verified overseas enterprise professional account retains its qualification. Login access and operator information follow the rules for existing accounts.
- If the assignment is unknown or an entry shows an error, retain the platform notice and clarify the applicable conditions before applying.
The platform’s account-country assignment, described as “户口国”, is separate from company registration country and operator nationality. A Chinese identity document, +86 phone number or current IP address does not independently establish that an account is CN. Read the 2026 overseas business account eligibility rules for the relevant account paths.
Operator requirements and advertising checks
An operator assigned to CN who can provide an identity card can enter the onboarding path. A foreign-national operator must be in mainland China, provide a +86 phone number and sign the platform’s compliance commitment. For enterprise professional account verification, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan identity documents are handled under the domestic identity-document rules. Personal information supplied with a foreign passport is hidden or masked under the new rules.
Professional account verification and advertising onboarding are separate reviews. For an overseas user’s advertising onboarding, the operator’s real-name check at the corporate verification step accepts only a mainland Chinese resident second-generation identity card, not a passport or a Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan travel permit. We check this separately when advertising is part of the plan.
What Muxiang helps you prepare
We review the proposed account, overseas entity and operator conditions, then organise company registration proof, trademark ownership or brand authorisation, account naming, product category, website and product information. You receive a list of missing materials and questions that need platform confirmation before submission.
If the category needs special approval or the brand also needs an ad account, we identify the separate checks and their order. Our deliverables are an eligibility review, document checklist and application steps. Xiaohongshu makes the final verification decision.
Start with a verification pre-check
Send the company registration country, company and brand names, brand-authorisation relationship, intended account’s current verification status, known account-country assignment, operator document type and product or service category. For a foreign-national operator, state whether they are in mainland China and have a +86 number. Mention whether you also need advertising onboarding.
Initial consultation does not require identity-document photos or full identity numbers. Submit formal identity materials through the later platform application steps. Our overseas company verification pre-check page explains the information to prepare before contacting Muxiang.
