The official policy says verified overseas business professional accounts retain their qualification and will not be removed. Retention, however, is separate from login access, operator-information display and visibility of personal KOS account details.
Latest official update from Xiaohongshu: the professional-account and KOS changes are confirmed, with phased rollout from 30 September to 30 October 2026. Requirements will apply progressively; check your account status and the relevant application step.
Record the current state before assessing changes
For an operating brand, document the verification state, commonly used entry points and data the team relies on. If a field becomes hidden or an entry point behaves differently during rollout, you can describe the actual change without assuming cancellation. For renewals or a change of company entity, check the requirements applicable to that separate procedure.
Retained verification does not mean unchanged permissions
The official policy states that verified overseas business professional accounts keep their qualification and will not be removed. However, foreign-passport operator information is hidden, and business accounts cannot view details of overseas personal KOS accounts. Check verification status, access and data visibility separately. A display change alone is not evidence of cancelled verification. The official policy does not establish that renewals or changes of entity retain identical treatment.
Desktop and app access for existing business accounts
CN-attributed accounts can use the domestic desktop professional platform and the in-app professional centre. Existing non-CN business accounts can use the domestic desktop platform with overseas operator information masked; exceptional cases may redirect to the overseas version. Their in-app professional-centre data is hosted overseas and traffic does not return to China. The official policy lists a separate non-CN login restriction for new business accounts: do not apply it indiscriminately to existing ones.
What to prepare before asking for an assessment
- Current verification and expiry information without assuming renewal rules.
- Desktop platform and in-app professional centre separately.
- Whether operator identity or overseas personal KOS details are needed.
Frequently asked question
Do existing personal professional accounts have the same access rules?
No. The official policy preserves existing overseas personal qualifications but blocks access to the domestic professional app and desktop platform, directing users to the overseas creator centre. Existing business accounts have their own desktop and app arrangements.
Discuss your account with Muxiang
Share your company's registration country, the account's current verification status, its platform-recorded region if known, and the operator's document type. Muxiang can help identify applicable conditions and missing information before you prepare an application. You do not need to send identity-document images for an initial discussion. Final approval remains with the platform.
