Foreign-operator conditions at the first stage do not prove a passport is accepted for advertising corporate verification. Nor does having a local employee mean their identity can be used casually. The official policy specifies a CN-attributed operator and says an identity card can support admission. It separately describes conditions for a foreign operator: being in mainland China, providing a +86 phone number and signing the platform's compliance undertaking. Confirm which route applies rather than reducing this to ‘any passport is accepted’. Personal information of an operator using a foreign passport is masked across the system; the company's own posts and exposure data are a separate matter.
Document treatment depends on the business process
In the professional-account section, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan documents are treated like domestic identity cards for normal display. A foreign passport triggers a prominent notice and hidden personal information. These are professional-account rules, not proof that the same documents work for advertising onboarding. First list document type, current location, phone country code and the intended service; an initial eligibility enquiry does not require sending a passport scan.
