An overseas-company Blue V application involves three separate checks: the company entity, the account and its operator. A valid company document alone does not establish that the whole application fits the new rules.
Latest official update from Xiaohongshu: the professional-account and KOS changes are confirmed, with phased rollout from 30 September to 30 October 2026. Requirements will apply progressively; check your account status and the relevant application step.
Build a three-part application profile
First identify the applicant company and its registration country. Next identify the account and its existing verification status. Finally record who operates it, their document type, location and phone country code. An overseas company, an operator located in China and a CN-attributed account can be different parts of the same application; the word ‘overseas’ cannot replace those checks.
The boundary for new business-account applications
| Account situation | New requirements |
|---|---|
| Ordinary account attributed to non-CN | Cannot upgrade to a business professional account |
| CN account using an overseas company entity | May enter the verification route, subject to operator and other review requirements |
| Already verified business account | Assess under existing-account rules |
Choose and assess the account before treating company documents as a complete application. The official policy neither excludes all overseas entities nor guarantees approval for every CN account.
Check the operator separately
The official policy specifies a CN-attributed operator and says an identity card can support admission. It separately describes conditions for a foreign operator: being in mainland China, providing a +86 phone number and signing the platform's compliance undertaking. Confirm which route applies rather than reducing this to ‘any passport is accepted’. Personal information of an operator using a foreign passport is masked across the system; the company's own posts and exposure data are a separate matter.
Document treatment depends on the business process
In the professional-account section, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan documents are treated like domestic identity cards for normal display. A foreign passport triggers a prominent notice and hidden personal information. These are professional-account rules, not proof that the same documents work for advertising onboarding. First list document type, current location, phone country code and the intended service; an initial eligibility enquiry does not require sending a passport scan.
What to prepare before asking for an assessment
- Record company, account and operator as separate items.
- Separate professional-account documents from future ad-account documents.
- List uncertain attribution or document conditions for confirmation.
Frequently asked question
Does a CN account guarantee approval for an overseas company?
No. It addresses one eligibility condition in the new policy. Operator requirements, company materials and the platform's other reviews still apply. An application route can be assessed without promising its outcome.
Discuss your account with Muxiang
Share your company's registration country, the account's current verification status, its platform-recorded region if known, and the operator's document type. Muxiang can help identify applicable conditions and missing information before you prepare an application. You do not need to send identity-document images for an initial discussion. Final approval remains with the platform.
